1. What is this all about?

Inspired by the extraordinary success of anythingbutgrey's Harry Potter Non-Canon Ships Comment Ficathon, this is a comment ficathon themed around pairings from Buffy or Angel (or both!) that are not canonical pairings.

Prompt in the following format: Character/Character - prompt (For example: Anyanka/Halfrek - bosom buddies)

A suitable prompt could be a song lyric, a quote, a word, a sentence, a vague situation... just don't get too specific, because part of the fun is allowing the writer to interpret your prompt as they see fit. You can suggest a timeframe (such as "AtS S5", or "during 'Hush'") if this is important to your prompt.

2. What counts as a canonical pairing?

Good question! Here is a list of pairings I consider to be confirmed in the canonical text:

Angel(us) paired with Buffy, Darla, Drusilla, Cordelia, Eve, Nina or Spike.
Anya paired with Olaf, Xander or Spike.
Buffy paired with Angel(us), Owen, Scott, Parker, Riley, Spike or The Immortal.
Connor paired with Jasminedelia or Tracy.
Cordelia paired with Devon, Xander, Wesley, Doyle, Wilson, Groo or Angel.
Darla paired with Angel(us), Lindsey or The Immortal.
Doyle paired with Harriet or Cordelia.
Drusilla paired with Angel(us), Spike or The Immortal.
Faith paired with Xander or Wood.
Fred paired with Gunn, Knox or Wesley.
Giles paired with Jenny, Joyce, or Olivia.
Gunn paired with Fred or Gwen.
Harmony paired with Devon, Spike or Hamilton.
Jenny paired with Giles.
Joyce paired with Hank, Ted or Giles.
Lilah paired with Wesley.
Lindsey paired with Darla or Eve.
Oz paired with Willow or Veruca.
Riley paired with Buffy or Sam.

Pairings that displayed a mutual attraction but never acted on it (like Angel/Kate or Spike/Fred) are fine, as are canonically present but one-sided pairings (like Buffy/Xander or Wesley/Illyria).


3. What about the comics?

What comics? I have never heard of any comics based on these television shows.


4. Do I have to fill prompts in order to post prompts? I'm not much of a writer.

No! Post as many prompts as you like. I encourage you to join in, though. Nobody's expecting you to be a master prose stylist. Also, if fic isn't your bag feel free to do art or a picspam or a fanmix or whatever! Get creative.
